Establishment of Activities in Israel

1953

Working in partnership with the National Company of Engineering and Construction Ltd, we were involved in the completion of many notable projects in Israel and Iran, including construction of the fuel line from Haifa to Tel Aviv, the Israeli Shipyards slipway, and the Ben Gurion Airport runway. We were also responsible for the regeneration of the Nordia neighbourhood in central Tel Aviv, where nowadays Dizengof Centre is located.

Subcontractor for Dead Sea Works

1954

Dead Sea Works is one of the world’s largest potash producers. The production of potassium requires the construction of vast evaporation ponds and dikes. Working with the National Company of Engineering and Construction Ltd, we were involved in the construction of the required dikes and feeding canals and in the dredging and transport of raw material from the Dead Sea to the Dead Sea Works facilities.

Drying of Hahula Swamps

1955-1957

At the time, this project was one of the most significant national projects. The objectives of the Lake Hula drainage project were to increase the amount of arable land and to eradicate the risk of malaria in the area. Work was completed in collaboration with Zanzibar-Dakar by drawing on the dredging expertise and knowledge we gained whilst working on the Dead Sea Works project.

Construction of Main Water and Sewage Lines in Tel Aviv

1957-1958

This construction project was the first complex works that involved the casting of concrete after drying underground water.

Construction of the Tel Aviv Town Hall

1958-1961

This was the tallest building in Israel at the time and until today is used for all of the capital’s Town Hall activities.

Construction and Development Works in Israel & Africa

1960-1967

This partnership resulted in the construction of a number of commercial, residential and public buildings throughout Israel and Africa. A notable accomplishment is the development and construction of the Apolonia Hotel in Herzliya Pituach, now known as the Daniel Hotel. In Africa, we also built a number of hotels, including the Hilton Nairobi and a 200-room hotel in Madagascar. In addition, we were responsible for the construction of a 100 km road in Northern Ethiopia.

Establishment of ARA Engineering and Construction Co. LTD

1969

Over many decades of activity this company led the construction and development of a large number of residential, commercial and industrial projects across Israel. We built over 3500 residential apartments, commercial and office buildings, roads and bridges, factories, and a large number of public buildings including electricity company offices, schools, and the Herzliya Stadium.

Starting operations in Romania

1991

Working with Sitraco and through our ownership of Nil real estate development and construction companies, we built a large number of office buildings and apartments in Central Bucharest including Sitraco Center and Sitraco Twins.

Acquisition of Hotel Sinaia in Romania.

1996

RINA Group enters the Romanian tourism industry by acquiring Hotel Sinaia, located in one of the most visited resorts in Romania. Hotel Sinaia is a preferred accommodation and relaxation spot for thousands of foreign and Romanian tourists each year. The hotel has over 246 rooms with modern facilities, 2 gourmet restaurants, a coffee shop, a beauty & health centre and several retail shops. Plus, 9 conference rooms with a total area of 915 square meters and the ability to host events with up to 400 guests simultaneously. Having a solid market position, Hotel Sinaia is leading the way in Romanian tourism together with other RINA Hotels.

Founding of RINA Group Afrique.

2000

Recognising the great potential that West Africa and, in particular, Cote d’Ivoire have, we decided to invest considerable effort and resources to establish a strong business presence in this region. Our local offices are taking part in various BOT tenders and other business endeavours that have grown and spread throughout the years in many fields including IT, Agriculture, Mining, Energy and Construction Materials.

Leading the Real Estate Market in Romania

2004

Europe House, one of the first AAA office building is built and developed in Romania in partnership with GTC, EBRD, and Deutsche Bank.

Acquisition of Negev Industrial Minerals.

2004

2004 sees RINA’s entry into the Industrial Minerals sector through the acquisition of Negev Industrial Minerals LTD (NIM). NIM was established in 1953 and has a rich history and an excellent market position, being the largest quick lime producer in Israel. After acquisition, RINA embarked on a major development of the production capabilities of the company, aiming to continuously grow the activity in this field in a responsible manner.

Establishment of DekelOil

2007

The company at the heart of our agricultural operations is DekelOil in Cote d’Ivoire. DekelOil strives to deliver socially conscious agricultural projects with a view to developing economies and benefiting local trade. DekelOil jointly cultivates over 40,000 hectares and works in partnership with more than 7,000 growers via agricultural cooperatives. Plus, it has constructed a modern, computerized nursery capable of producing 1,000,000 seedlings per year. Together with our partners, SIVA Group (an Indian multinational corporation) we strive to develop even more.

Inauguration of Lime Kiln II.

2011

Negev Industrial Minerals inaugurates the Lime Kiln II in the Mishor Rotem Lime Plant in Israel, an investment worth c. 15,000,000 USD.

Construction of Palm Oil Plant in Cote d’Ivoire.

2011

DekelOil has started the construction of a 60 T/H palm oil mill in Ayenouan, Cote d’Ivoire. Investment in this project is worth c. 18,000,000 Euro.
